In Geography Year 2 are learning about Continents and Oceans! This week we explored and labelled maps. We also had a challenge of world jigsaws!

Year 2 had a fun and engaging start to their new story 'The Tunnel' by Anthony Browne by experiencing what it is like to be in a tunnel.

Our first book in Year 2 this term is The Tunnel by Anthony Browne. We decided to make our own tunnels to have an experience of what it is like to go into one. Ask us about it and our fantastic predictions of what may be in the tunnel in the book.

We have enjoyed a fantastic first week in Year 2 Blessed. We have all settled into routine well and are excited for our learning journey throughout the year! 

In our PE lessons this half term we have been doing different activities where we need to work together as a team. We have had some grumpy moments but many more lovely moments filled with good listening and communication with our friends. 

This week we have been researching Jewish festivals. We have made posters about Passover and Hanukkah. 

For our centenary day, year 2 were tasked with writing a biography about past staff, pupils or governors. We were lucky enough to have two very special people visit our school who could tell us lots of interesting and funny information about their childhood and work at our school - starting in…

As part of our Jubilee Pledge Day and Feast day, we all enjoyed an ice cream. This was very much appreciated on such a hot day!

Year 2 have started to learn about the religion Judaism. We have made a really good start and are excited to see what else we can find out. 

Year 2S were able to explore various plants and trees as well plant their own pea plant. They also very much enjoyed their giant cookie for a snack!

We have done some fantastic traditional tale story writing in English in 2S. 

In Science this half term we have planted and observed the growth our sunflower seeds. We have learnt about what seeds needs to germinate. Today we are going to take our plants home to keep them alive!
